E.A. Kennedy is an accomplished editorial and documentary photographer with over twenty years of experience covering events in the United States, Central American and the Caribbean.
His work has appeared in major daily newspapers such as the Atlanta Journal Constitution and the New York Times, as well as magazines as diverse as Time, Business Week and Ebony.
He has garnered numerous awards from the National Press Photographers (NPPA)/ University of Missouri's Picture of the Year Competition, the Atlanta Seminar and Short Course and the NPPA's Flying Short Course and has been named a Pulitzer Finalist.
In addition to his editorial work, Kennedy has been a contributing photographer to seven books, including the internationally acclaimed "Songs of My People: An African American Self-Portrait" and "America 24/7". In 2007, Kennedy's first solo project, "Life, Liberty and the Mummers", a photographic book that documents the lives and traditions of Philadelphia's mummers, was published by Temple University Press.
Kennedy's work is a part of the permanent collections of the Houston Museum of Fine Art, the Norton Museum and the Palm Beach County Arts in Public Places Program.
His proudest accomplishment is being identified as one of the nation's 90 most important African-American photographers, which led to his inclusion in the historic gathering of African-American photographers chosen to celebrate Gordon Park's 90th birthday.
Kennedy works out of the Philadelphia area specializing in editorial, commercial and stock photography. He is currently represented by The ImageWorks photo agency.
